Where is Las Leñas Ski Resort Located?

• The closest town to Las Leñas is Malargüe, a quiet Patagonian community with around 27,000 residents, located about 80 km (50 miles) southeast of the resort.
• The nearest large city is Mendoza, 419 km (260 miles) to the northeast, while Buenos Aires, Argentina’s vibrant capital, is over 1,000 km (620 miles) away to the east.
• Given its remote location, most visitors fly into Mendoza or Buenos Aires and then connect via bus or private transfer to the resort.

What Can Non-Skiers Do at Las Leñas?

For non-skiers, however, a week in the valley can seem monotonous. We recommend Bariloche in northern Patagonia as an alternative for those that do not ski. In addition to having a great ski resort, Bariloche is a much more adaptable base since it provides a variety of activities, such as hiking, cultural sites, lake cruises, and chocolate stores.

Las Leñas is the place to go if you're looking for unspoiled powder, steep chutes, and large mountain terrain on your ski trip. Advanced riders will love it, and intermediates and families will find it to be a surprisingly wonderful location as well.

However, Bariloche can offer a better balance if you're visiting with non-skiers or like a resort-town atmosphere with more off-slope diversity.
